- Loading Issue Could Not Load Plugin Mac
I recently upgraded from to Komplete 10 Ultimate and got the Komplete S61 keyboard with it. But after days of trying to get Komplete Kontrol to work, I'm ready to quit. No matter what I do, all it says is, 'Loading error. Can't load plugin.' The S61 keyboard works (e.g.
Inputs midi correctly and plays synths in ), including all the NI programs listed in Kontakt 5 and Reactor.Komplete Kontrol correctly controls the S61 (key choices, chord mode, arp mode: all correctly light up). But while all the libraries are listed correctly (and all work in Kontakt 5.3), they all fail to load in Komplete Kontrol either in Sonar X3 or in standalone mode.I've installed all the latest software (Komplete Kontrol 1.01,3.92 driver, etc). I've searched NI site for solutions and followed NI's 'could not load plugin' problem solution, which is as follows: I used the NI VSTtool v.1.0.1.0 to locate the files. What it lists, it lists correctly (some things are not listed).
I then deleted the Plugin64.data file in C Users.User name. App Data Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol folder. Finally I relaunched Komplete Kontrol standalone and it rebuilt the library. This fixed nothing. I then tried multiple times. Same result.I was able to use the file/load in Komplete Kontrol to get a few things to load.
But they only worked with the default patch. Trying to change the patch resulted in the same error message. At this point, here's where I'm at:1 All the plugins that Komplete Kontrol 'can't find' work fine in Kontakt. So as far as Kontakt is concerned, they are installed correctly.2 The NI Service Center correctly finds and updates all these plugins. So as far as the Service Center is concerned, the are installed correctly.3 All the paths to the libraries for these plugins are correctly listed in the Windows registry.
I can't however find any references to the paths to the plugins themselves.4 Deleting the plugin64.dat file and reloading Kontrol does rebuild this file. But opening this file in a hex editor reveals only 5 or 6 plugins listed, most of which are effects, not synths. So for some reason, this file does not list most of the installed plugins.5 This file also lists two paths, C:Program FilesNative InstrumentsVSTPlugins and C:Program Files (x86)Native InstrumentsVSTPlugins, neither of which exists. Please, if anyone has this working, could you tell me. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, w/ all current patches. With 'E' patch. A Digital Storm eVGA X79 FTW w/16 GB 1600 memory. As a side note, the NI VST Tool incorrectly listed the Machine 2 v2.21 64bit.dlls as being 32 bit.dlls and wouldn't launch until I moved them out of the listed paths. What a cluster. Please Help! What I would do is install Ultimate again, because we have two problems, Kontrol having problems finding libraries and missing VSTs.If you uninstall Kontrol and then install Ultimate over the existing installation, install Kontrol again, update through Service Center, everything should be fine. Before I got K10U, I tested this with the free K8 player, because I wanted to move the libraries and plugins to an external harddrive.
I just reinstalled, without uninstall before, and just reinstalled the libraries and plugins to the new paths and deletend the old paths manually afterwards. Worked like a charm. So my recommendation is, reinstall libraries and plugins and Kontrol afterwards.
If it then after installing the updates still isn't running error free, it's time to contact support. Thank you for the reply, Chris. I am tempted to just reinstall. However, all the VSTs are present. Otherwise they wouldn't run in Sonar (in Kontakt, Machine 2, & Reactor), update correctly in service center, and run fine in the standalones. And I can see the VSTs installed in the directories I told the installer to install them in. Also, I am reluctant to reinstall all the content as some people report having problems upgrading from 9 Ultimate to 10 Ultimate when trying to install everything rather than only installing the new content.
Komplete Kontrol Could Not Load Plugin
The same thing was happening when I went from 8 Ultimate to 9. To avoid this, I unchecked all but the new content, then installed. Finally, there are the two odd problems wherein 1 the plugin64.data file shows directories that don't exist, and 2 with the plugins that do get paths listed correctly (e.g. Monarch, Rounds, etc.), while they open correctly from the KK browser, if I try to change from the default patch, they too give the dreaded, 'can't load plugin.' I have a feeling that not installing to the default install directories is the problem.I think you're right. Time to contact support.
When I referred to the default directories, I meant the ones where the VST.dlls are installed to, not the libraries. The libraries list correctly in Komplete Kontrol.
It's the plugins it cannot find.Oddly, this morning, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Komplete Kontrol. Now, not only do the plugins not load, now there is no plugin64.data file, even though I followed the setup directions, opening the standalone first. Also, now the service center fails to install the 1.02 update. I had to install it manually. As for uninstalling 10, I would have to uninstall 8 Ultimate and 9 Ultimate as well, then hope that it all re-installs correctly. It all works in Kontakt, Maschine, and Reactor, both standalone and in Sonar. I'm just not willing to risk it all going south. Not yet, anyway.
I contacted support. No reply yet. Holidays, of course.I also kept trying, uninstalling and reinstalling KK. At some point, the things listed in the plugin64.data file all started to work.

This includes Battery and all the Reactor plugins. Oddly, all these VST.dlls are in the same directory as the rest of the NI VSTs.
But KK, doesn't find any of the other plugins.I also tried deleting the plugin64.data file, then moving some of the non-loading plugins to the paths listed in plugin64.data. For instance, besides the paths in this file which end in the working plugins, it lists c:program filesnative instrumentsVSTPlugins as one of four additional paths. These paths have no plugin listed at the end of the path. I tried creating and moving a few.dlls to this path. Still no luck. Click to expand.Actually, no. Control toolbox on ms word list. I mean Kontakt, the plugin, and all the other plugins that KK can't find, load fine in my DAWs.
As for moving them, the 'lovely' Windows installer allows you to change the plugin install directory. I have not moved them after using the NI installer, and I installed them to my own default directory. My point is, these plugins all work fine in my DAWs. So installing to this directory in no way broke them. Thanks, though.P.S. I don't know what is worse, having no control over installs or having no clue how the control you have breaks things. Let me try this again. My KK browser lists all the installed NI plugins, including Kontakt and Massive.Unfortunately, with a few exceptions (e.g.
Reactor, Battery 4), trying to open these plugins results in a 'can't load plugin' error message in KK. So Reactor (and all the Reactor plugins) load and work fine. Same thing with Battery. But all the rest will not load, neither by clicking on them in the browser nor when I point KK's file browser directly to the plugin.dlls.The thing is, all the NI plugins which fail to load in KK work fine in my DAWs. So they must be installed correctly.
Also, KK is not a DAW. It's a plugin (or a standalone program) that loads other plugins. So running KK in a DAW means a plugin is running other plugins, in this case only NI plugins.
And KK loads and works correctly in my DAWS, when loading the few plugins that do work in KK. So KK must also be installed correctly, at least as far as the DAW is concerned. What is becoming clearer is that the problem lies in the plugin64.data file.
Why it fails to list all but a few plugins is where I'm stuck. The NI site acknowledges the problem exists.
Unfortunately, they say the fix is to delete the plugin64.data file and then open the standalone KK. Repeatedly deleting this file and restarting the standalone has failed to make any difference though. The file merely gets recreated in the same flawed way, listing only a few plugins and four non-existent paths. At one point, I even created these paths and copied the non-loading plugins to those directories, then deleted the plugin64.data file and reopened standalone KK. Nothing changed.

The plugin64.data file remains flawed.
We’ve been tight lipped at Pro Tools Expert HQ for a couple of weeks, as we were invited to a private viewing of the new Native Instruments KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series keyboards. When we got the cryptic invite from NI a few weeks earlier we thought, well this is Komplete 10 and some Maschine derivative. We were wrong about the latter. On arrival at the NI London HQ we were ushered into our own private viewing room to spend several hours with two of the NI team to have an in-depth look at the new Native Instruments announces KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series keyboards. To be honest our first thought was “does the world need another controller keyboard? Even one spelt with a ‘K’!” How many more ways do we need to control our stuff?
If NI are to jump on this bandwagon (forgive the pun) then it has to offer something more than the rest. KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series keyboards - Quality KeybedFor a lot of brands the keyboard controller market is a rush to the bottom, lots of features and cheap. Now no one should complain about that, but when Native Instruments surveyed users about what they wanted from a control keyboard, they told us the top answer was a quality playing experience from the key bed. So KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series keyboards have a very, very nice action to them, not fully weighted, but reminiscent of keyboards like the Roland D50, nice amount of weight and bounce when you hit the bottom. This is where some of the money has been spent on the Native Instruments KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series keyboards.KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series keyboards - Integrated WorkflowWe may all love the modern world of DAWs and VIs, but the immediacy of hardware keyboard is often lost.
Hello Presonus,I was considering switching from Logic to Studio One Pro after using the Artist version that came with my Faderport 8 and liking it. But this will not happen. I now got a new Komplete Kontrol S49 MK2 and the integration with Logic (and Live) is just too good to pass. So this is to let you know that this missing integration is hurting your business.I don't know if this software developpement only depends on Presonus, on Native Instrument or on both, but I hope you can do something about it!Thanks. I wouldn't hold my breath, like you said, after years of waiting for mk1 support it's unlikely.
Presonus seems to want to focus on their hardware, in an effort to push people to buy their products. While I understand that from a business perspective, it still sucks as a user. Hell I would be happy with just a working template, we still don't have one for Maschine mk2 or Komplete Kontrol mk1 after all these years. I love S1 but at the same time I won't deny that controller support has been lacking since day 1. This is a very interesting topic as I await this intergration step up as well. There’s also issues with the overall music production experience in whole. The drag and drop feature is amazing, the cpu load and what you can do with midi is nice but when will Presonus program their DAW for music composers.
The things you can do in CuBase is bananas. Chord mode where new progression chords gives you ideas for yournext move. Reprogramming the midi communication between midi devices is a great start.
Logic Pro is still king in programming midi.I feel Studio One is great for mixing and Mastering but the music production workflow lacks huge. The other guy mentioned the intergration between NI Kontrol MK2 and the DAW. I opened Logic for the first time in a while just to see how this works, and it was plug and play. Didn’t have to set up anything. Then I began to work in Alchemy (synth plugin/ library) which I love. In Studio One we only have Mai Tai which totally glitches from time to time.Seem like as Studio One becomes the next big growing DAW that people are starting to talk about, it’s getting outdated really fast at the same time. Ableton Live 10 is sweeping the game right now.
They came out with a way to playback midi notes anywhere in the playhead and it plays regardless of the start point like you can with a wav file in your session. Also their fx device modules are totally advanced and appropriate for musical inspiration such as changing the tone or how it reacts according to the many features. Why do I have to load third party plugins to be inspired?I also do feel slighted because each time I look up, it’s a new hardware release. The fader port has took on two new updates. Studio Live has.
I don’t know how many. New speakers for live and studio. The hardware for networking systems in churches and venues are amazing. But what about us music producers who choose studio one as our DAW?
Most of the updates I’ve seen over the 3 years that I switched from Logic Pro has been geared towards mix and mastering engineers which is great because I wear that hat as well, but for music production/ film composing I began gaining interest in CuBase, Ableton Live, and Reason. Going back to Logic Pro is even in my thoughts. I am also now considering dropping Studio One 3 for Ableton Live 10 as there does not seem to be any response to even suggest that there may be future support for Native Instruments keyboards. Its a real shame that I have to do this but the lack of support is begining to make this look like the only option. This must be affecting new music producers who are weighing up the options of which DAW to choose.
Just how long should we have to wait to conclude that integration with NI keyboards is not going to happen? Effortless controller support is one of Studio One's great features for some people. Just because a previous controller from Native Instruments went out of production, doesn't mean that future support for that manufacturer's hardware should be held back. Additionally, this is the second generation of a premium controller line which has now been around for a number of years-it didn't die on the vine and doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon.Studio One already has a very rich interface for controller support from what I can tell. Out of every DAW I've tried, it's the one that required the least amount of fiddling with any of my other controllers and tends to map things pretty intelligently automatically. I am new at this, still researching and not having purchased anything but reference monitors, I had come to the conclusion that Studio One was going to be my DAW, as it was highly recommended to me by a Guitar Center sales guy I always go to, Native Instruments has also become my choice for hardware and instruments, as well as Spitfire Audio. After doing further research, I saw that Studio One doesn't fully integrate with NI, so I started looking at Cubase.
I don't want to have to go the Cubase route, so like I said in my first post to this forum, tell your guy to call their guy and get this in motion. Is this not solved in 2018? It looks like ppl have been begging for this since 2016. I'm in demo and I'm really loving SO v4, it is amazing with a great workflow.
Sadly, because it doesn't integrate with Komple Kontrol I will have to probably buy Cubase. I don't want to spend money on Cubase, I want Studio One v4, but PreSonsus's ignoring of this question, not even telling us Yes/No/In Works/Here is why not or whatever- They have lost me as a customer.I hope you guys with KK eventually get what you need. If given it some time, I love the look of StudioOne 4 and i love learning how to mix in it but my workflow is off because i started production in maschine and now komplete kontrol. No one really addresses any of these comments and i come back often to see in Hope's something changes but i believe I'm limiting myself at this point. I dont like how it looks but I'm guessing Ableton is the next move unfortunately or Cubase from what i see in the comments.
Maybe I'll find more use once theres a full compatibility update with NI products. The lack of Controller support is a problem. None of the leading midi keyboards are supported: Komplete Kontrol MK2: nope.
Novation SL MKIII: nope. Arturia Keylab MK2: I tried it, it didnt work. It did work very well with other hosts, though!
The S1 mapping function isn’t the answer: I regularly lose my VST mappings and the behavior is erratic (tested with Akai and Nektar). What is going on? Why doesn’t Studio One leverage these great new innovations form NI, Akai, Novation? I am seriously considering switching back! PreSonus team, please answer some of the questions in this thread.
We are dying to have simple functions added to our workflow in S1. I personally love this DAW. I also love my NI hardware. Is there a way for you and NI to make this happen?
They are quite silent. But, we are told that it is coming.
Is there anything that you can do to speed this up? Native Instruments pushed back our expectations until next year. A d, there are plenty of users who are waiting to find out when it will happen.Look anywhere on this to learn more about our concerns. I'm just UPvoting everything and commenting to remind you that WE didn't forget!Note: I am sure native instruments is a huge factor in the integration. However, I am also sure that since they have already intergrated with logic & Live They would be willing to work with Presonus as well. Also, Considering your own integration with other software such as Melodyne, Console one, softube tape, & Vocalign, I am sure you could take integration even further and add features Such as recording the OUTPUT of the 'Smart features' directly into the piano roll for editing with your own midi tools! Hi, don't know if this is of help to anyone while waiting for full NKS support -but the S1 transport controls are active on my KK61 mk1.
Native Instruments Could Not Load Plugin
I set the KK61 up 2 ways - both as MIDI keyboard AND Mackie control device:I had issues uploading the pic, hope you see it - but it's all been said anyway - set it up by its 2 functions, as Controller and asMIDI instr. I'm not using Maschine now but it should work just fine. The KK61 'instances'/ functions are both present in my Audio/ MIDI setup document.Hope it makes someone's day.
Hey guys, I'm using Logic Pro X 10.2I did the update, now whenever I load an instance of KK, I get the following 'loading issue. Could not load Plug-in'.I updated everything on Service Center, which is where I also updated to KK 1.5. Is there a driver or something else I forgot to download from the NI website? I'm a little lost on what to do, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Loading Issue Could Not Load Plugin Mac
I've heard some people say it has to do with re-mapping some folders and re scanning or something, but I'm not entirely sure and also don't know really how to go about that. Thanks in advance guys! Same issue here. Before the update to Kontrol 1.5.x, everything worked fine.Today, after updating to the latest Komplete Kontrol version (incl. Updating some plugins via Service Center), I only receive 'Could not load Plug-in' for all Komplete plugins. They work fine on their own.Running Komplete Kontrol in Standalone mode does not help either.I get the exact same error message there.Sadly, this is not encouraging. Was about to purchase the Kontrol S61 Keyboard today, but now I must postpone everything:-(.
Okay - maybe this is of help to somebody. Here is what I did:- deinstalled Komplete Control using 'CleanMyMac'- deleted all Komplete Control related remaining files via Finder incl. The Komplete Control plugin inside the /components folder- download the 'KompeteKontrol101mac.dmg' from NI plus all the subsequent updaters- installed the original 1.0.1 version and launched it in standalone mode- then I did the same with all subsequent installers one by one (installing plus launching in Standalone mode)Finally, all seems to work now. However I should mention that the included scan system did freeze on a few occasions while scanning plugins.
This, however, was not an issue.CheersTom.
